About Us

We are an ethnically diverse and racially integrated church with a cross-section of ages and cultural backgrounds.
We are a community of Christians from different ends of the earth who come together to worship God in fellowship as one body.
We are one in Christ. Romans 12, 5: “So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another. Chalk Farm Baptist Church commenced back in 1865 when a small number of Christians began to meet in a home in Camden Town.

A year later they moved into a converted barn behind Chalk Farm Road, which they called the “Peniel Tabernacle”.

In 1870 the church bought some land, and in 1871 opened the Berkley Road Baptist Chapel (or Chalk Farm Chapel) which was damaged during the last world war and re-erected in 1957 and renamed as it stands today, “Chalk Farm Baptist Church.”

Since then, God has sustained this church in many different ways, bringing together people of diverse ages, cultures and backgrounds.

We believe that prayer equips people to serve. Our aim is to serve the communities in which we live, and
